Architecture
Homes featured throughout Westhaven are architecturally sensitive to both the region and historic origins. Floorplans are modern, but from the street, an eclectic mix of elevations spur vitality and timelessness. Architectural integrity is enforced with every home in the community, and repetition of elevations is strictly limited.
Horticulture
Horticulture provides an element to the community that adds sustainable, natural beauty for generations. Specific examples include: Street trees designed to canopy; parks and public squares; hedgerows and planting beds; activated and well maintained open spaces; front porches, and both residential and commercial streetscapes.
Floriculture
Westhaven retained one of the regionʼs most outstanding floriculture practitioners, Master Gardner Barbara Wise, to ensure that lush beds and flashes of native color adorn every corner of the community — be it private residence or public park.
Streetscapes
Another by-product of suburban design is the dependence on the automobile. Westhaven seeks to shed that dependence, creating pedestrian friendly environments where sidewalks and bicycles take you everywhere from school to the grocery store. Westhaven was designed utilizing traditional neighborhood principles, and the neighborhood has embraced the concept.
Our Schools
Westhaven is part of the Williamson County School system which is ranked as one of the best in the state. Pearre Creek Elementary is located within Westhaven and has become a vital part of the neighborhood since its opening in 2010. For the 2011-2012 school year, Westhaven will be zoned for Hillsboro School (middle), and Independence High School.
